What is the data controller status in the public sector?
"Controller’s status in the public sector" is the title of a nationwide scientific conference that will be held on November 5, 2020 via the online platform. The event is organized by the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz, under the honorary patronage of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Should the legislator clearly indicate the controller's status? How to determine the status of the controller in complex structures of public administration and local government units? These and many other questions will be answered by experts, including representatives of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Piotr Drobek, Counsellor of the Personal Data Protection Office, will take up the topic of the Controller in the public sector in the light of EU law, while Monika Krasińska, Director of the Case Law and Legislation Department at the Personal Data Protection Office, will present the Controller's status in local government units.
The second thematic session, in turn, will focus on theissues of separate controllers, joint controllers and commissioning of personal data processing. What are their rights and what are their obligations. Experts will present to the audience specific cases of the applied regulations.
