Mirosław Sanek fulfils the function of the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Previously, he fulfilled the function of the Deputy Inspector General for Personal Data Protection. He was appointed for that position on 17 January 2018 by the Speaker of the Sejm (lower chamber of the Polish Parliament) upon a motion of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection.
Mirosław Sanek was born on 1 October 1979 in Kraków. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
He began his professional activity as an employee of MPs offices. He dealt mainly with the protection of the rights of private houses’ tenants. Then he worked as a counsellor at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland in the Bureau of Culture, Science and National Heritage.
As a lawyer on behalf of the Polish Schools Teachers Association, he inter alia represented teachers in disciplinary and court cases.
In the Ministry of National Education, he fulfilled the function of the advisor to the Minister. Then he took up the post of the head of the Political Office. Recently, he was the Director General in the Ministry of National Education.
He is a regular collaborator of the Centre for Political Thought. Prior to his appointment for this position, he was the member of the editorial team of the Arcana bi-monthly.
Mirosław Sanek is the author of articles in the field of constitutional law.
