Transnational code approval procedure

In principle, the procedures for approval of a national and a European (transnational) code are similar. However, it is extremely important to specify explicitly in the draft code whether the code is only national or will also apply to the processing of personal data in other EU Member States. This is because a transnational code must meet additional formal requirements, for example, in the context of language versions. Its draft - unlike national codes - must also be reviewed by the EDPB and the European Commission.
