Interactive educational materials
In the era of digitisation and ubiquitous Internet, the protection of children's personal data is becoming extremely important. In response to these challenges, the Personal Data Protection Office, in cooperation with the Ombudsman for Children, has created modern educational materials aimed at increasing the awareness of the youngest Internet users about their privacy and safety online.
The prepared educational materials include various forms of activities that aim to engage children in the process of learning through play. The set includes:
- Flashcards – they help children remember crucial terms and rules concerning new technologies and personal data protection.
- Crossword - it is an interactive form of checking knowledge and consolidating terminology related to online privacy.
- Tests – they allow children to test their knowledge in the form of a game, which is an incentive to learn.
After passing all the presented stages, children have the opportunity to print a personal diploma as a reward and proof of the acquired knowledge.
The educational materials were officially presented during the workshop for children, which took place on 26 April this year as part of the conference "Challenges for the protection of children's personal data". The event was organised by the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) in cooperation with the Ombudsman for Children. This event focused on the most important problems and challenges related to the protection of children's personal data in the digital world.
The workshop and the presented educational materials were very positively received. The children willingly participated in interactive tasks, and their involvement confirms that such an approach to education in the field of personal data protection is effective and necessary.
We encourage you to take advantage of educational materials and promote knowledge on personal data protection among the youngest Internet users. Joined activities for children's education and awareness are key to ensuring their safety in the digital world.
