The Personal Data Protection Office at seminar in Strasbourg

A working seminar, entitled “Artificial intelligence and data protection: a complementary and integrated approach”  was held in Strasbourg on 28 November 2024. The seminar was organized by the Council of Europe under the auspices of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI), the Consultative Committee of the Convention no. 108 for the protection of individuals with regard to automatic processing of personal data (T-PD) and the University of Strasbourg. The seminar was attended by Piotr Drobek, Advisor of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, who, during the session on personal data protection, delivered a paper entitled. “The role of data protection authorities in the legal framework of artificial intelligence”.

The seminar was an opportunity to discuss the synergies between the two Council of Europe conventions, Convention 108 and the Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence.
