Meeting of the Personal Data Protection Office with National Institute of Local Government
- The Personal Data Protection Office, with due diligence, aims to provide substantive support to local government units that process personal data on a large scale, both digitally and on paper, including in healthcare, housing policy, surveillance, and education, announced Konrad Komornicki, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, during a meeting with Professor Paweł Swianiewicz, Director of the National Institute of Local Government.
This meeting was an opportunity to exchange information and experiences related to personal data protection in local government units. Konrad Komornicki, the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, also presented potential areas for collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of personal data protection in local government units, where personal data, including sensitive data, are processed on a large scale. This cooperation would aim not only at education but also at minimising weaknesses and threats in personal data protection across all levels of local government.
The meeting with the National Institute of Local Government was another in a series of meetings held by the Personal Data Protection Office with organisations representing local government in Poland. So far, the Personal Data Protection Office has met with representatives of the Union of Polish Metropolises, the Union of Polish Cities, the Union of Polish Poviats, the Union of Rural Municipalities, and the Union of Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland.
