
The Michał Serzycki’ Data Protection Award Ceremony is approaching
Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office, invites you to the Michał Serzycki Award Ceremony on 25 February 2025, organised for the eighth time as part of the celebration of the of Personal Data Protection Day.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format with on-line transmission via the website www.uodo.gov.pl

Ceremony of the Michał Serzycki Award
The main event will be the ceremony of presenting the Michał Serzycki Award, which is granted for outstanding achievements in the field of education and promotion of personal data protection. The award honours individuals and organisations who, through their activities, contribute to raising public awareness of the right to privacy.
During the ceremony, the profiles of this year's winners - in the category of person and in the category of organisation - and their activities for the protection of personal data will be presented.
Expert Panel: "Image protection vs technology development – where to set boundaries?"
After the official part, there will be a discussion panel devoted to the challenges related to the protection of image in the context of dynamic development of technology. The panel will be chaired by Mirosław Gumularz, PhD, Chairman of the Social Team of Experts to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
The Michał Serzycki Award was inaugurated in 2018 and is awarded to individuals and organisations that promote the protection of personal data and the right to privacy through their educational and information activities.
Michał Serzycki (1971-2016), who served as the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection from 2006 to 2010, was the initiator of many educational and social activities. His initiative led to the creation of the ‘Your data – Your concern’ programme, which still operates in Polish schools to this day, educating subsequent generations of conscious users of modern technologies.
