The President of the Personal Data Protection Office took part in the 6th edition of CyberDefence24

On 2 October, the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, Mirosław Wróblewski, participated in a discussion panel entitled "What about this school. Technology in the hands of children" during the 6th edition of CyberDefence24 Day, which took place at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw.

The discussion concerned the protection of children's personal data in the context of the use of e-diaries and educational applications, as well as the awareness of the privacy of the youngest and legal regulations concerning the safety of young people online.

"There is a lack of reflection among parents today related to how their children's photos can be used on the Internet. We must all be aware that images of minors are further shared using algorithms and may be processed for criminal purposes without our consent and knowledge," said Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Other panels discussed, among other things, the relations between the state, the military and business, state infrastructure, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence and the threat of disinformation in society.

The partners of the event were the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Minister of National Defence, the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Polish Space Agency and the Ombudsman for Children.

CyberDefence24 Day has been taking place since 2021.
