Children's and youth's data and new directions of development in the field of physical education

The President of the Personal Data Protection Office, the Mayor of the City of Krakow, the Rector of the Bronisław Czech University of Physical Education in Krakow and the Director of the Gray Ranks (Polish: Szare Szeregi) Krakow School Sports Centre invite you to take part in the training and methodology conference: "Safety of children’s and youth’s data and new directions of development in the field of physical culture. How can we respond to today’s challenges?”

The event will take place on 10 October 2025 as part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Gray Ranks Krakow School Sports Centre.
Participation in the conference is free and possible both on-line via the website www.uodo.gov.pl, without the need to register in advance, and on-site at the Academy of Physical Culture in Krakow (al. John Paul II 78).

The number of stationary places is limited, registration will be honoured via form available at: conference.ksos.pl – the order of applications determines participation.

The conference is addressed to all those interested in the protection of personal data in sport, in particular to representatives of the sports environment and the area of physical education, who work with children and youth on a daily basis: directors of educational institutions, physical education teachers, personal data experts, physiotherapists.

The conference will include two main sessions. The first one is dedicated to the Personal Data Protection Office (from 10.20 to 13.00), which will focus on the protection of personal data and the GDPR compliance in sports institutions. The session will consist of two panels: the first focusing on data protection in the area of physical education, the second on the challenges related to the use of AI in sport. The experts from the Personal Data Protection Office will address such topics as: ‘Consent to the processing of personal data of young athletes and the rules for sharing their image – how to comply with the GDPR?’, ‘Code of Good Practice or Code of Conduct? The benefits of a GDPR Code of Conduct’

This session will also cover subjects related to digital hygiene in the context of sports activities.

The second part of the conference is a session of University of Physical Education and Krakow School Sports Centre (from 13.45 to 17.00), which will focus on the issues such as exercising and body awareness, presenting them as a way to achieve health and harmonious development of children and adolescents. In this part, the speakers will be mainly specialists in biology, physical education and psychology.

The honorary patronage of the Ombudsman for Children Monika Horna-Cieślak and the Małopolska School Superintendent - Gabriela Olszowska emphasizes the importance of the conference and its significance for the protection of children's and youth's rights in the area of physical culture.
