The "Your Data – Your Concern" program with the title of the Educational Initiative of the Year
The educational program "Your Data – Your Concern" was honored with the title of Educational Initiative of the Year. This unique distinction is awarded by the Jury of the Teacher of the Year Competition, which includes the previous winners of the competition, which has been organised for 24 years by "Głos Nauczycielski" in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education.
The award ceremony took place on October 7 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, during the final gala of the Teacher of the Year 2025 competition. The jury appreciated the importance of the programme for youth education, pointing to its regularity, innovativeness and real support it offers to schools and teachers in educating young people in the area of privacy and personal data protection.
The gala was attended by the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, Mirosław Wróblewski, Anna Dudkowska, Director of the Educational Initiatives Department at the Personal Data Protection Office and the coordinator of the program, Marta Mikołajczyk.
The title of the Educational Initiative of the Year is awarded to institutions and organisations conducting particularly important activities for the benefit of education and youth. In previous years, this honorary title was awarded to, among others, the Polish Humanitarian Agency, the Copernicus Science Centre, the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, and the Empowering Children Foundation.
"Your Data – Your Concern" is a nationwide educational program run by the Personal Data Protection Office for several years. Its main goal is to raise the awareness of children, young people, teachers and parents about the protection of personal data and the right to privacy, as well as to develop the ability to safely use new technologies. The programme supports schools in the implementation of educational activities, provides teaching and training materials and initiates projects that facilitate the inclusion of the topic of protection in everyday teaching practice.
"The fact that this title was awarded by teachers is of particular importance for the Personal Data Protection Office. It is teachers who know the needs of students best and are on the front line in shaping their attitudes. The recognition of the pedagogical community for the educational activities of the Personal Data Protection Office confirms that the "Your Data – Your Concern" programme responds to the real challenges of modern schools and supports teachers in their mission," said Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
