The President of the PL SA invites You to a Conference on the European Health Data Space

On March 24–25, 2026, Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Faculty of Medical University of Warsaw, invites you to participate in the third edition of the conference on the European Health Data Space (EHDS). The event serves as a forum for expert debate on data protection in the health sector.

This year’s edition will focus on the challenges associated with the secondary processing of personal data and the protection of individuals’ rights in the evolving public health ecosystem. The European Health Data Space aims to unlock the value of medical data by enabling its lawful, secure, and efficient secondary use for research and innovation. Its implementation significantly alters the division of responsibilities among public authorities, healthcare providers, researchers, and private entities, and redefines the protection of fundamental rights in the field of digital health. During the conference, experts will analyse the legal, institutional, and practical implications of these changes.

The conference will be held online.

The first day, conducted in English, will focus on fundamental rights, data governance, and the role of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) within the EU’s regulatory ecosystem. The second day of the event, conducted in Polish, will focus on implementation challenges, the role of public institutions, and the impact of the EHDS on biomedical research, new technologies, and data protection practices. No registration is required to participate in the event. A link to the live stream will be available on the website of the Personal Data Protection Office during the conference.

We encourage you to participate in the conference.
