Konrad Komornicki at the Consumer Congress 2026

Konrad Komornicki, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, attended the Consumer Congress 2026, which took place on April 13, 2026, at CIC Warsaw in Warsaw. The event focused on building consumer trust in the 21st century and the challenges arising from the development of new technologies and the digital economy.

A representative from the Personal Data Protection Office took part in a debate as part of the “Security and Trust” session, during which topics such as the role of artificial intelligence in consumer relations—including the right to information—were discussed. The debate compared interactions with humans versus interactions with algorithms. Participants also discussed issues related to the transparency of recommendation systems. The discussion further addressed dynamic pricing and microtargeting, the limits of personalised offers, and the risks associated with practices that could mislead consumers.

During the panel discussion, Konrad Komornicki noted that one of the key areas of focus for the Personal Data Protection Office remains ensuring transparency in data processing and strengthening the protection of individuals’ rights in a data- and algorithm-driven environment. He also highlighted the importance of raising user awareness regarding privacy protection and the need to adapt regulations to rapidly evolving technologies.

The Personal Data Protection Office has granted honorary patronage to the 2026 Consumer Congress.
