Personal Data Protection Office organised workshops for the District Labour Inspectorate
On 12 May, training workshops for representatives of the District Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw were held at the headquarter of the Personal Data Protection Office. The meeting was devoted to issues related to the protection of personal data in the area of labour law and practical aspects of data processing by employers.
The meeting was opened by the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, Prof. Agnieszka Grzelak, stressing the importance of cooperation between the institutions, which has been strengthened by a long-standing agreement concluded between the data protection authority and the State Labour Inspectorate.
In her speech, Prof. Grzelak highlighted the role of educational activities in raising awareness and contributing to the correct application of the data protection provisions; She also pointed to the specific nature of workshops devoted to issues relevant from the perspective of the activities of the District Labour Inspectorate.
During the workshop, issues related to the processing of employee health data, workplace monitoring, obtaining information about employees and job candidates, including from social media, as well as the rules for dealing with personal data breaches were discussed. A lot of space was also devoted to issues related to the processing of the employee's image.
The training had a practical dimension, discussing specific situations arising in the day-to-day activities of the institution and in the employer-employee relationship. An important element of the meeting was also the opportunity to ask questions and exchange experiences, which allowed participants to broaden their knowledge and better prepare for the application of the provisions on the protection of personal data in practice.
