“The Polish SA on Tour across Poland”. The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship on the Route of the Initiative
On 25–26 May 2026, the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), as part of the "The Polish SA on Tour across Poland" initiative, will visit the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The President of the Personal Data Protection Office Mirosław Wróblewski, together with colleagues, will meet with residents, representatives of public administration, senior citizens, and data protection officers in Bydgoszcz and Toruń.
The aim of the initiative is to promote awareness of personal data protection, build public understanding of citizens' rights, and strengthen cooperation with public administration and local communities. The visit programme includes consultations for residents, expert training sessions, and meetings devoted to the challenges of personal data protection.
"An important element of the visits carried out under the 'The Polish SA on Tour across Poland' programme are the discussions that arise during meetings and the questions we receive from our interlocutors. They allow us to understand what matters to society and which data protection issues we should address as a priority," said Mirosław Wróblewski.
25 May 2026 – Bydgoszcz: training sessions and meetings with public administration
On this day, the UODO delegation will visit Bydgoszcz. At the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Office, consultations for residents will take place, preceded by a press conference. A training session on the correct processing and security of data, aimed at substantive staff and management of the combined voivodeship administration, is also planned. Particular emphasis will be placed on discussing the proper identification and handling of incidents, as well as explaining how to correctly conduct a risk analysis and a data protection impact assessment.
During the visit, a meeting is planned between the President of the Personal Data Protection Office Mirosław Wróblewski and representatives of the Social Policy Department of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Bydgoszcz, dedicated to building cooperation and sharing experiences in the area of personal data protection for senior citizens.
26 May 2026 – Toruń: conversations with residents and the data protection community
On the second day of the visit, at the Toruń City Hall, residents will be able to take advantage of individual consultations with the Personal Data Protection Office’s experts on personal data protection and obtain information about their rights.
The programme also includes a meeting with data protection officers and data controllers, at which a Personal Data Protection Office’s expert will explain the application of personal data protection regulations in the operations of public institutions. The expert will discuss the importance of the role and position of data protection officers within public entities and how their cooperation with UODO should be conducted.
Talks between the President of the Personal Data Protection Office and local government representatives, as well as a meeting with the senior community, are also planned.
The events organised as part of the "The Personal Data Protection Office on Tour Across Poland" initiative in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship will provide an opportunity to discuss the most important challenges related to personal data protection, share experiences, and promote knowledge of the right to privacy and data security.
