The Personal Data Protection Office and the Office of Electronic Communications strengthen cooperation regarding data protection in digital services
On 21 July 2026, a meeting of representatives of the Personal Data Protection Office and the Office of Electronic Communications took place at the seat of the Personal Data Protection Office.
Discussions were devoted to the exchange of experiences and further development of cooperation between the two institutions. The participants of the meeting presented the organisational structure and scope of competences of their offices, which allowed to discuss the areas in which the activities of the two bodies intertwine and complement each other.
Particular attention was paid to issues related to the handling of complaints received by both institutions. Contact points were discussed on issues related to digital services and the processing of personal data as well as the possibilities to improve cooperation in cases requiring the involvement of both authorities. Participants of the meeting paid particular attention to complaints related to DSA violations and to developing a framework for cooperation regarding the future role of the President of the Office of Electronic Communications as a Digital Services Coordinator.
Representatives of the Personal Data Protection Office and the Office of Electronic Communications declared continued cooperation and further exchange of experiences in order to respond more effectively to the challenges arising from the development of digital services and ensure the security of personal data processed through them.
