The Personal Data Protection Office supports awareness and information security initiatives

On 23 July 2026, the inauguration of the Programme Committee of the Year of Information Awareness and Security took place in the Senate of the Republic of Poland. The year 2027 was designated by the Senate as the Year of Information Awareness and Security. The Senate’s initiative aims to develop media and digital competences of the society and strengthen the resilience against disinformation.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, Agnieszka Grzelak, who emphasised that the Senate's undertaking is consistent with the long-term educational activities of the Personal Data Protection Office. She highlighted, among other things, the nationwide educational programme ‘Your data – Your concern’, which has been running for 17 years; actions intended for seniors, and numerous initiatives designed to build digital skills and raise awareness in the field of personal data protection, organised for various communities and age groups.

During the meeting Dr Agnieszka Grzelak, professor at the College of Law of Kozminski University, declared the Personal Data Protection Office’s readiness to actively participate in the projects organised as part of the Year of Information Awareness and Security. The Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office also proposed the organisation of the Final Gala of the ‘Your data – Your concern’ programme in the Chancellery of the Senate as well as the participation of representatives of the Office and the Social Team of Experts to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, in events dedicated to digital education and information security.

During the meeting, the Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office invited representatives of the Senate to participate in the planned Congress on Personal Data Protection and the work of its programme committee. These initiatives aim to further strengthen the cooperation between public institutions to build an informed and secure digital society, which is one of the core activities of the Personal Data Protection Office.
