The President of the Personal Data Protection Office supports the energy sector

On 26 August this year, Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office, together with his staff, met with representatives of the Polish Electricity Committee. The discussion centred on the Polish Electricity Committee’s initiative to draw up a guide for limited companies in the energy sector, including its scope and the benefits for the energy industry.

The President of the Personal Data Protection Office expressed his support for educational initiatives aimed at protecting personal data, highlighting, first and foremost, codes of conduct as tools enabling data controllers and processors in the energy sector to demonstrate compliance with the GDPR. The meeting also provided an opportunity to explain the mechanism for monitoring compliance with the code of conduct and the accreditation requirements that a monitoring body must meet.

The participants expressed an interest in organising joint initiatives designed to support the energy sector in complying with data protection regulations.
