Recruitment for the 17th edition of the "Your Data – Your Concern" programme has begun
How to prepare young people to function consciously and responsibly in the digital world? How to talk to pupils about privacy, artificial intelligence, online safety, image protection, the influence of algorithms or disinformation? Answers to these questions have been provided for years by the nationwide educational programme of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office "Your Data – Your Concern".
Recruitment runs from 1 September to 31 October 2026. Applications can only be made via the electronic form available on the website of the Personal Data Protection Office, in the "Your Data – Your Concern" tab. Detailed information and the application form will be published on the day of the start of the recruitment.
We invite primary schools, secondary schools and teacher training institutions that want to develop the competences of pupils and teachers in the field of personal data protection and the right to privacy to participate in the programme.
What will be the topic of the 17th edition?
This year's edition will be devoted to conscious functioning in the digital space. Due to growing scale of challenges related to protection of privacy and personal data in the era of dynamic development of new technologies, it is of particular importance to develop young people's competences in the field of conscious management of their own personal data, understanding the operation of algorithms and artificial intelligence, recognizing information manipulation, protecting privacy and image, and building a digital identity.
In the modern world, personal data have become a valuable resource of the digital economy, and algorithms are increasingly influencing the decisions, choices and behaviour of young people. Therefore, the 17th edition of the programme will focus on developing knowledge and skills that will allow pupils to function consciously, responsibly and safely in the digital environment.
In the 17th edition, special attention will be paid to such issues as:
· cybersecurity:
- privacy in the world of new technologies, including artificial intelligence;
- conscious management of digital identity;
- image protection - deepfake threats;
- manipulation, disinformation and the influence of algorithms on the decisions of Internet users;
· security of personal data, with particular emphasis on:
- protection of personal data concerning health;
- protection of personal data when using games and social media;
· personal data as a value in digital economy
· importance of privacy protection for well-being and mental health
The Programme enables the implementation of educational activities throughout the school year. Participants will receive teaching materials, lesson plans and substantive support from Personal Data Protection Office experts. They will also be able to participate in trainings, webinars, competitions and initiatives organised as a part of the Programme. Educational materials will take into account current challenges related to the development of digital technologies and practical aspects of personal data protection in the everyday lives of young people.
Every year, hundreds of schools from all over Poland, thousands of teachers and tens of thousands of pupils are involved in the Programme's activities. Together, they carry out lessons, workshops, projects and events that help build a culture of respect for privacy and the conscious use of new technologies. For many years, the Programme has been an important support for schools in education on personal data protection and security in the digital environment, helping to prepare pupils to function responsibly in a dynamically changing reality.
