Certification bodies and entities that my apply for certification
In Poland, certification will be issued by certification bodies that are appropriately accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA). This accreditation will be based on:
- ISO/IEC 17065/2012 standards
- and additional requirements for the accreditation of certification bodies within the meaning of Article 43(3) of GDPR, as defined by the President of the Office.
The accreditation shall be issued for a maximum period of five years and may be renewed.
The PCA is obliged to communicate information on the issuing or withdrawal of accreditation to the President of the Office.
The role of the certification body is to issue certification, to review and/or extend issued certification and to withdraw certification. This requires the certification body or the owner of the certification scheme to define and establish certification criteria and procedures.
Certification will be able to be issued upon request by:
- controller,
- processor,
- manufacturer or an entity placing a service or product on the market.
Certification shall be issued to a controller or processor for a maximum period of three years and may be renewed.
